Born at a young age, Phil has always had a penchant for science, from learning how keys are flushed down the toilet to making the perfect Gerber food mix.  Growing up in Memphis, TN, as the son of a chemist and an English major, Phil had two conflicting sides.  He attended MIT for undergrad where he decided to major in Brain and Cognitive Science with a minor in Psychology.  Still, Phil's hunger for science was insatiable, so one day during lunch, he stumbled into an organic chemistry class, and the rest is history.  Adding the double major in Chemistry, and putting aside his acting and writing careers, he came to the University of Illinois with one goal in mind: to become Dr. Phil.  He is currently toiling away in the chemical education program, but he will be performing actual lab work at some point in the future.  Even with all the work he does in chemistry and education, he still finds time for singing, writing, and the Cleveland Indians, his first true love.
